The Brazilian Football Association (BFA) has announced that Marcelo will be joining them as their new manager for the 2019-20 season. The move comes after he had previously been appointed as the head coach of the national team.
Marcelo, who is currently the manager of São Paulo, was appointed as the new head coach of the BFA in January this year. He took over from Claudio Ranieri, who left Brazil to become the manager of Manchester United.
"I am thrilled and excited to take on the challenge of managing the Brazilian national team," said Marcelo. "It's going to be a tough task,Ligue 1 Focus but I'm looking forward to the opportunity to work with such talented players and coaches."
Despite his previous experience as a player, Marcelo has gained valuable insights into the game and has worked closely with the BFA's management team to develop a system that can help the national team excel at the highest level.
"We have a strong coaching staff and a solid infrastructure, which will enable us to achieve great things in the future," said Marcelo. "I look forward to working with all the players and staff at the BFA and contributing to the development of the national team."
